5.Darjeeling Ropeway:

Old Ghoom Monastery is the popular name of Yogi Crawling. The monastery belongs to the Gelukpa or Yellow Hat sect and is known for its 15 ft (4.6 m)-high Sherab Gyatso, who was the head of the monastery until 1905.In 1909, Kyabje Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Kalsang, known as Lama Domo Geshe Rinpoche, made Sherab Gyatso the chief. The Mahakala temple where it stands as a historical offering once stood the name of a Buddhist monastery ‘Darje-linga’ which was built by Lama Darje Ringing in 1 17 D65 that was previously believed to be a sacred place for the indigenous Lepcha people. A monastery was later built at the scene and worshiped by both Lepcha and Bhutia.
The monastery was desecrated and destroyed by the invading forces after the Gurkha army invaded in 1888, and over time the shrine began to represent the Hindu symbols of the majority Nepali community. The legend that there are three Shiva-lingas representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar (Lord Shiva) appeared on the site in 1782.
The monastery itself was looted and destroyed in 1815 by the Gorkha invasion after which it was shifted to Bhutia Buti about a mile away and was called Bhutia Buti Bihar.
